Riyadh and Moscow throw off restraints

Saudi Arabia and Russia are “certainly prepared” to adjust production cuts when parties to the global supply restraint deal meet in Vienna next month, Saudi oil minister Khalid al-Falih says. A formal decision to increase output will not be made until Opec’s 22 June gathering and a 23 June meeting with non-Opec partners, al-Falih and Russian energy minister Alexander Novak say. The agreement — which is scheduled to expire at the end of this year — is intended to remove 1.7mn b/d of supply from the global market.
