Scottish School of Forestry Borders trip

When I started studying at the Scottish School of Forestry in Inverness I was struckby the student's range of backgrounds and their reasons for wanting to learn about forestry. We shared a love for trees and woodlands, but how we wanted to integrate this into our working lives varied: woodland management, conservation roles, woodland surveying, urban forestry, estate management and the timber industry. Our Borders Study Trip towards the end of our HNC Year was a reflection of this diversification within forestry, as we visited various sites and spoke to numerous professionals from different fields.
