The US Department of Energy (DOE) has given the proposed Jordan Cove LNG export terminal at Coos Bay, Oregon, the OK to export US-produced gas - if the facility is ever built. Under the DOE order, Jordan Cove - owned by Canada's Pembina Pipeline - can export up to 1.08 billion cubic feet per day. The gas would be sourced from both Canada and the US to be liquefied at the terminal. Although the terminal and related Pacific Connector pipeline have been approved by federal regulators, they face an uphill fight, as the state has so far denied all key permits.
