The complete acquisition of the Wartsila two-stroke business by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) has made waves in the large engine industry. Martin Wernli, CEO of renamed Winterthur Gas & Diesel explains that the overall strategy is very much "business-as-usual" as a traditional licensor of engine technology. At the same time, there are substantial synergies within CSSC.
