In 2018, US regulators quietly--and I mean, not even with a cricket--threw out centuries of ‘medicamental’ tradition in America when they eliminated the use of the teaspoonful, the tablespoonful, and the fluid ounce on all oral liquid medication product labels in the land, allowing only milliliters dosing and setting the standard for including a product-specific measuring cup. They even wrote in a line of metric education by explaining the symbol being used, stating “mL = milliliter,” and at all times using the correct SI symbol for the milliliter, “mL.”
