High-sulphur coke fob Gulf price ticks up

The US Gulf coast high-sulphur petroleum coke price edged up from a week earlier on tight supply and softer freight rates, while the mid-sulphur price held frm. Major refners were heard to have no spot availability, with production tied up in long-term contracts and recent through- put cuts expected to result in lower coke output. One produc- er was even heard to be seeking spot supply to meet contrac- tual obligations. Firm ofers were heard around $34-35/t fob levels this week, and one deal was heard slightly over $34/t.
