End-of-life care in intellectual disability: a retrospective cross-sectional study

It is acknowledged that there is a limited understanding of the experiences at the end of life for people who have an intellectual disability (ID). People with an intellectual disability are likely to experience inequalities in access to palliative care services, alongside the discrimination that has been identified as a significant issue for this population. A prior study has sought to identify the experiences of family carers following the death of their family member with ID; however, the quality of this data was questioned and led to the development of this study.
