Disclosed herein is a method of detecting an adverse reaction to a drug based on a retrospective cohort study using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The method includs the steps of (a) determining a drug and a test; (b) extracting a exposure group and a candidate non-exposure group from an EMR database; (c) selecting a non-exposure group, statistically not different from the exposure group, from the candidate non-exposure group; (d) determining a representative value after the drug was administered, selected from among results of the test for patients of the exposure group, and a representative value in a state in which the drug was not administered, selected from among results of the test for patients of the non-exposure group; and (e) determining whether the drug has produced the adverse reaction by conducting statistical verification on the representative values.
