Modeling the Effects of Health Education and Early Therapy on Tuberculosis Transmission Dynamics

摘要

A new tuberculosis model with health education and early therapy is introduced. The early therapy is available for both detected latent and infective individuals. The basic reproduction number R-0 is derived by the next generation matrix. Mathematical analyses show that the disease free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if R-0 < 1, and the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if R-0 > 1. Numerical simulations are also carried out to illustrate our analytical results. Our results show that both health education and early therapy have the positive impact in reducing burden of tuberculosis.
