Chinese sectors under threat from US bill

Chinese oil, shipping, dredging, and offshore drilling companies are facing a threat of US sanctions if a South China Sea (SCS) bill introduced last Thursday by several US senators is enacted. US Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Ben Cardin (D-MD) introduced the bill to impose sanctions against Chinese individ- uals and entities that participate in “Beijing’s illegitimate activ- ities to aggressively assert its expansive maritime and territorial claims in these disputed regions.”
