CSN's Q3 steel shipments fall 17% on year

Sao Paulo—Brazilian integrated steelmaker CSN shipped 1.07 million mt of steel in the third quarter, down 17% year on year and 8% lower quarter on quarter, according to its quarterly results released Thursday.Of the total, 750,000 mt were sold domestically, a decline of 18% year on year, while 307,000 mt were sold to the company's foreign subsidiaries, down 7% from a year earlier, while 15,000 mt were direct exports, down 69% from the same period last year. Production of flat-rolled products was down 15% year on year to 765,000 mt during the period, and 9% lower from the second quarter of 2019.
