Gunmen attacked a ship supplying anExxon Mobil oil platform off the Nigeriancoast, the company said on Tuesday, lessthan three weeks after someone was kid-napped from a vessel at one of its facilities inthe same waters. Kidnappings are relativelycommon in the onshore oil-producing NigerDelta but since an amnesty was agreed withmilitants in 2009 and the military havecracked down on gangs in the creeks, moreattacks have spread offshore (OD Jul.19’11).
