Japan’s product sales rise to 2.77 million b/d in June

Tokyo—Japanese refiners and importers sold 2.77 million b/d of oil products in the domestic market in June, up 0.8% year on year, according to latest preliminary data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The year-on-year increase was due to higher sales of naphtha and gasoil, METI’s data showed. Naphtha sales jumped 16% year on year to 677,237 b/d in June due to higher petrochemical production, according to a METI official.
