Chariot slumps on second Namibia dry hole

Cape Town—Enthusiasm for exploration offshore Namibia is unlikely to be diminished despite UK-listed Chariot Oil & Gas revealing September 10 a second dry well in its much watched exploration program, sending its shares down to two-and-a-half year lows. Chariot said the Kabeljou well in the Southern Block 2714A targeting the Nimrod prospect in the Orange basin had been plugged and abandoned as a dry hole. The explorer’s first wildcat exploration attempt also ended in failure in May.
