Upstream oil and gas companies will be smaller and more focused when they emerge from the downturn, with different leadership and different strategies, predicts Bob Fryklund, chief upstream strategist at consultancy IHS Energy. Already the largest companies are learning that they can't be everything and everywhere, Fryklund told Oil Daily on the sidelines of an industry briefing sponsored by the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
