Sound wave energy releasing device (10) comprises a sound wave energy converter (12) for generating a sound wave (14) along a sound wave spreading axis (16), a focusing unit for focusing the sound wave onto a focal point and a sound wave re-orientating unit for changing the spatial orientation of the spreading axis in relation to the focal point so that the position of the focal point is delimited to one site designated as a focal point site. The sound wave remains focused on the focal point during the change of the spatial orientation of the spreading axis. Preferred Features: The focal point is characterized by a focal region length along the spreading axis and by a focal region width in a plane running vertical to the spreading axis. The sound wave re-orientating unit changes the spatial orientation of the spreading axis.
