Kazakhstan has been hit hard by the economic slowdown. Control Risks told Mining Journal the giant Central Asian country (it's larger than the whole of western Europe) could be in recession this year for the first time since 1998.The slump in oil and gas prices is a sizeable blow for a country that derives 57% of export income from a sector that has been hammered over the past nine months.
