Pakistan: DAP offtake weak in Q1-NFDC

Pakistan's DAP offtake in February was 71,000 mt, a slight increase from 64,000 mt in February 2015, but nowhere near enough to offset high stocks and domestic production, according to Pakistan's NFDC. As a result, cumulative Rabi fertilizer offtake between October and February increased to 1.4 million mt from 1.1 million mt in the same period 2014/2015. Pakistan had opening DAP stocks for February at 240,000 mt, while local production was 62,000 mt and imports reached 38,000 mt, bringing total available DAP during January to 340,000 mt. With 71,000 mt offtake, closing DAP stocks for February were 269,000 mt.
