A range of opinions were heard on current European spot prices for acid export. Certain market participants agreed with the current assessment of $27-35/mt FOB Northwest Europe, but price ideas on either side of this range were heard. Some argued that prices based on the last Brazilian deal could be in the $40s/mt FOB. Mosaic paid a price in the $80s/mt CFR in January for a cargo understood to be for April delivery. Freights to Brazil from Europe were pegged at $45-55/mt, depending on departure port and shipment quantity.
