US player Apache has reported a host of oil and gas discoveries over four basins in Egypt’s Western Desert region. Apache has already flowed oil and gas from one of the finds, all of which have been tested. The Riviera SW-1X well on the southern flank of the Abu Gharadig basin has flowed 5,800 b/d of oil and 2.8 MMcf/d (79.3 Mcm/d) of gas in testing from a Lower Bahariya sand with 24ft (7m) of net pay. It is currently producing at 2,000 b/d with gas being monitored.
