Oman has given companies an extra seven weeks until mid-February to submit proposals for onshore Block 31 being tendered under its 2016 upstream bid round, which includes a total of four exploration blocks, amid indications of strong interest in the offering. The bid deadline for Block 31 has been pushed back to Feb. 15 from Dec. 29, allowing companies more time to prepare their proposals. The block, relinquished by Oslolisted DNO in August 2015, spans 8,526 square kilometers on Oman's border with the United Arab Emirates and has tight gas potential, according to the sultanate's oil and gas ministry.
