Oman’s oil and gas ministry has launched its 2019 upstream licensing round with six onshore licenses up for grabs and a bid deadline of May 30.The six tracts-58,70,73,74,75 and 76-form part of Petroleum Development Oman’s(PDO)large,prolific Block 6 from which most of Oman’s 990,000 b/d of oil is produced.The state-controlled firm is required to relinquish areas of the block that it is not actively exploring in every five years.The six licenses being tendered in 2019 comprise 5% of the total area(IOD Jan.8’19).
