Stelco slates outage at Lake Erie blast furnace

Stelco Inc. plans to take a three- to four-day outage at the blast furnace at its Lake Erie Works in Nanticoke, Ontario, court documents indicate.The move is necessary to re-apply protective shotcrete refractory to portions of the furnace's walls, according to a Nov. 29 report filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice by court-appointed monitor Alex Morrison.
