摘要

This article describes the hardware implementation of ATmega2560 microcontroller based stepper motor driver and magnetic encoder system along with a brief overview of the stepper motor, its driver and magnetic encoder unit. The bit sequence for full and half stepping mode is programmed into the microcontroller and as per the user requirement the system drives the stepper motor in coordination with the magnetic encoder unit. The system offers a very simple, inexpensive and versatile option for driving a stepper motor along with its encoding status.
