摘要

There is no more well-recognized and distinguished book associated with school psychology and related fields than Sattler's Assessment of Children: Cognition Foundation. It has been selected as one of the great books in psychology (Norcross & Tomcho, 1994) and has been the most frequently used book in graduate-level introductory assessment courses (Cody & Prieto, 2000). I expect that the majority of school psychologists in practice today possess a copy it. Furthermore, this book, along with other scholarly contributions, led Sattler to be awarded the Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Application of Psychology in 2005 by the American Psychological Foundation of the American Psychological Association. It is the most recent edition of this book that I will review. There is a companion text, Assessment of Children: Behavioral, Social, and Clinical Foundations (Sattler & Hope, 2006).
