Degradables claims called into question

Efforts to establish clarity in the marketing claims of bio-based products continues, with the publication of the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) Bioplastics Council’s latest Position Paper on Degradable Additives. The SPI Bioplastic Council’s paper, published in January 2013, follows on from an Environmental Communications Guide for Bioplastics, released by European Bioplastics (EUBP) in September 2012 (see Bioplastics World 3.3).
