Strikes in France last autumn pushed European jet fuel stocks down to 7.4 million tons - some 10% below the year-ago month. After labor unrest shut down French refineries, stocks and higher imports helped to fill the product shortfall. French jet stocks dipped to 714,000 tons in October, down from 957,000 in September and nearly 40% below October 2009 rates. Stocks in the UK, Germany and Spain were lower than year-earlier rates, while inventories in smaller countries of the OECD were 10% below the seasonal norm.
