Highlights from the 3rd International Conference on Polyphenols and Health Current trends in polyphenol research: from Mother Nature to molecular mechanisms

摘要

The 3rd Internationa! Conference on Polyphenols and Health (ICPH), held in Kyoto, Japan, on November 25-28, 2007, focused on recent advances in polyphenolic research in different fields, from natural characterization, chemistry, bioavailability, metabolism, biological effects, formulations, epidemic-logical and interventional studies to clinical trials. The main focus of the conference was the molecular mechanism underlying pharmaceutical application of polyphenols in a plethora of disease conditions, including inflammation, cancer, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, allergy, cognition and oxidative stress-related pathologies.
