With PowerGen Europe as the backdrop, MTU Friedrichshafen introduced its new Series 4000 diesel engines designed for standby and prime power gen-set applications and announced its future plans for the development and sale of diesel and gaseous-fueled engines. The plans include the designation of the MDE Augsburg, Germany, facility as a competence center for gas engines and its strategy for growth in engine markets around the world.
