Eighth Int'l Symposium on Integrating Canopy, Rootstock and Enyironmental Physiology in Orchard Systems

From 13-18 June 2004, scientists in Hungary led by Dr. Karoly Hrotko hosted the 8th Internationa! Symposium on Integrating Canopy, Rootstock and Environmental Physiology in Orchard Systems, under the auspices of the ISHS. In what has become a long tradition, the participants of three working groups of the ISHS Section Pome and Stone Fruits (the Working Group on Rootstock Breeding and Evaluation, the Working Group on Orchard and Plantation Systems and the Working Group on Environmental Physiology of Fruit Crops) gather to a common symposium, which focuses on the complex interaction of rootstock, canopy architecture, training and pruning, and environmental physiology, integrated into a great puzzle that is called the orchard system.
