Westport, Volvo plan LNG-fueled engines

Westport Innovations announced May 16 that it will bring an enhanced Westport HD 15L engine to the North American market in early 2013. The upgraded 550-horsepower engine is targeted for use in a broad range of Class 8 tractors. According to Westport president Clark Quintin, the HD15L provides "diesel-like" performance in part because of high torque.
