A pot culture experiment was conducted at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Madurai to study the efficacy of Trichoderma viride in combination with fungicides against Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi.) Goid. infection in blackgram. The pathogen was isolated from infected blackgram plant and maintained in potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium. The seed treating fungicides viz., carbendazim and thiram at 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 per cent concentrations and the TNAU commercial formulation (CF) of T.viride at 0.4 per cent were tested for their efficacy against M.phaseolina in vitro following poison food technique. Similarly the sensitivity of T.viride to the fungicides was also tested.
