Pay levels

While base pay is by no means the only factor motivating workers, it remains by far the most important element of remuneration for most employees. It is often a prime consideration when workers are thinking about whether to stick with their current employer or to apply for positions elsewhere. As in previous years, we asked survey respondents to indicate their salary from a list of set bands, each rising in ?2500 increments. At the bottom of the salary scale are full-time employees earning less than ?20,000 a year. At the top are those paid ?80,000 or more.
