Syria is in negotiations with Egypt to import 2 billion cubic meters per year (193 million cubic feet per day) of Egyptian gas through the Arab Gas Pipeline to satisfy growing demand for power generation following delays to its own gas development plans,Syrian Oil Minister Sufian al-Allaw told WGI in Doha this week on the sidelines of the International Energy Forum.
