The structure of Xanthomonas campestris pv.vitians O-specific polysaccharide of the lipopolysaccharide fraction,extracted from the aqueous phase ,was defined,on the basis of chemical and spectroscopical methods,as constituted by the following repeating unit:[->3-#alpha#-L-Rhap-(1->]_n3)-#beta#-L-Rhap-(1->where n is more frequentyl equal to 2,but it also assumes values equal to 1 and to 3.
