Summer has drawn to a close and the days are becoming frustratingly short for those of us who like to work on our restoration projects, particularly where there is limited cover for our machinery, writes Andrew Hall. Tasks such as painting require a dry and dust-free atmosphere so now any thoughts of achieving a good enough finish in the open are a non-starter! However, this year things are a little easier for me as I have now constructed a small workshop in which to undertake some of these tasks. My intention is to accommodate a centre lathe together with the usual pillar drill and bench grinders etc and to have enough space left to work on some of my smaller projects.
