Adenovirus-associated deaths in red squirrels on Anglesey.

This article describes the clinical signs, postmortem findings and diagnosis of adenovirus infection in three 5-month-old wild British red squirrels (Sciurus vulgaris) in the UK during October 2007. Electron microscopy and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analyses on other animals found dead in 2005-2006 and which had displayed similar clinical signs to the first 3 cases are being undertaken.
