摘要

Although considered mandatory by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS); continuing professional development (CPD) is not currently a statutory requirement. Given the increasingly complex demands on the profession, a new Veterinary Surgeons or Veterinary Services Act is likely to make CPD a legal requirement. In anticipation of this, a survey was distributed to a random sample of 2000 veterinary surgeons across the UK, to capture the profession's current views and experiences of CPD, as wellas exploring the complex relationship between learning preferences, motivating factors and perceived barriers to participation in CPD.
