In a lecture given on 13 September 2003,as part of the centenary celebrations of the Royal College,Roger Waigh,professor of medicinal chemistry,University of Stratchlyde,distinguished between the use of the word "drug" in the media generally,which refers to substances of misuse,and the less restricted definition used by most professionals.
