Innovative silicone materials from Dow Corning are helping building owners, highway agencies and transportation companies to improve cost effectiveness and performance of their infrastructure. According to a recently published report in Chemical Week, the economic development program for India includes $515 billion of investments in infrastructure, including transportation, communication and utilities. The new government appears keen to speed up construction of highways and rail freight corridors in its current term as a way to boost the slowing economy. It is expected to announce big-budget projects in sectors such as, shipping, roads, railways and building construction. As the investment in infrastructure sectors increases, the nodal agencies for infrastructure development in the country are constantly looking at solutions to improve cost efficiency and extend the working life of community's infrastructure.
