Tobacco use and nicotine addition are very common chronic conditions that nurse practitioners (NPs) address in practice. Specifically, smokeless tobacco products, such as Snus (rhymes with moose) have been gaining popularity in recent years.1 Snus, which originated in Sweden in the 19th century, is a spit-free, finely chopped tobacco that is both pasteurized and refrigerated and sold as a sachet placed under the lip.2 Snus was banned in the European Union in 1992; however, Sweden petitioned for and received an exemption to this ban.
