Xyleborus monographus (Fabricius) (Curculionidae) in Bristol

On 16 May 2015, as part of the annual Bristol Bioblitz organised by the Bristol Natural History Consortium, I was leading a walk to both illustrate the variety of invertebrate life and to record as many species as possible at Oldbury Court in north Bristol (VC 34 West Gloucestershire). The Oldbury Court Estate is owned and managed by Bristol City Council and comprises an urban park and wooded valley with walks along the River Frome, part of the 18 mile Frome Valley Walkway which links the River Avon in Bristol city centre to the Cotswolds. The river valley comprises mixed woodland with adjacent amenity grassland, allotments and housing. A 'Site of Importance for Nature Conservation', the estate shows remnants of its historic landscaping by Repton.
