摘要

Problem-based learning (PBL) was a major component of my education during the first two years of my five-year undergraduate medical degree (I am now a fourth-year student), and a very new concept to me. At school, I was told exactly what I needed to learn, but at university I was expected to set my own learning objectives. This provoked feelings of uncertainty and anxiety about whether I was studying at an appropriate depth, and whether I was studying what I was expected to learn.
