The Central Columbia School District is committed to preparing all of their students for a successful post-secondary career through the development of THE CAREER PATHWAYS MODEL. This model ensures that all students experience the college prep curriculum in addition to career preparation and exploration. The Career Pathway Model evolved through a number of sources including a Project 720 Grant the school received from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and through the research of Dr. Kenneth Gray from The Pennsylvania State University. The CAREER PATHWAYS MODEL is a broad grouping of careers that share similar characteristics and whose employment requirementscall for many common interests, strengths and competencies. Central Columbia has grouped these characteristics into five different options: Arts and Communications; Business, Finance, Marketing, and Information Technology;career opportunities. It also provides knowledge that relates to a student's high school education to the world after graduation.
