The customary mix of agronomy trials, breeders' plots and specialist equipment is expected to attract Scottish growers to Potatoes in Practice. Syngenta and BASF hope to have results from this season's herbicide trials while SAC will highlight the risks from planting infected seed. More than 600 visitors are expected to attend the Potatoes in Practice (PiP) event which will be held again this year at SCRI's Balruddery Farm, near Invergowrie, Dundee on August 12. Sponsored by Potato Council, hosted bySCRI, SAC and CSC Crop Protection, and supported by Potato Review, the event is billed as a unique opportunity for farmers and their advisers to see the results of research sponsored by the potato industry and government bodies.
