Chemistry on the nanoscale is becoming more prevalent as the push for smaller electronic devices and more sensitive chemo/biosensors becomes greater. This step up in molecular dimensionality creates opportunities to integrate chemistry concepts into many other disciplines including physics, materials science, and chemical engineering. Many groups are currently working on novel polymeric supramolecular structures on the nanoscale. A large number of chemists have created innovative structures out of fairly simple building blocks.
