Rohm and Haas(R&H)and Engelhard say they have been awarded a US5.2-million grant by the U.S.Department of Energy's(DOE)Industrial Technologies Program to develop a technology to produce acrylic acid from propane,rather than propylene.The process,if successful,is expected to have lower energy costs and produce fewer pollutants than conventional technologies,the companies say.It is also expected to be offered for license,they say.
