Ensuring a skilled surveying and geospatial workforce: Part 2: initial training and education

My first article in Position magazine No. 55 (October-November 2011) provided an introduction to a Queensland analysis of the supply chain that produces the state's skilled surveying and geospatial workforce, and reported on the first component in the supply chain, attracting new entrants. The context is that Queensland has a serious skilled workforce shortage affecting all levels and segments of the industry; the consensus is that the shortage is expected to get worse over the next five years.
