Dongguan pressing for closure of 57 paper mills

Dongguan city in Guangdong province, China, is pressing ahead with the shutdown of 57 board and tissue mills by the end of this month. Earlier this week, local authorities announced that of the 57 paper mills targeted, 38 have stopped production, 17 have agreed to shut down but have not yet halted production, and only two have not signed closure agreements (No. 14, p. 1).
