Leading Asian EPS producer to build plant in Poland / Annual output of 100,000t / EUR 20m investment

Asia's leading EPS producer, Loyal Chemical Industries (Taipeh / Taiwan; www.loyal.com.tw) is making its first investment in Europe, where Asian imports stirred up the market last year. The company is investing EUR 20m in a new 100,000 t/y plant at Infrapark Police (Police / Poland; www. infrapark.pl), near the seaport of Szczecin. The new facility, that will supply the insulation and packaging markets, is scheduled to go on stream in mid-2010 and employ 100 people. Japan's Mitsubishi, world's largest producer of styrene monomer with capacity for more than 1m t/y, will supply feedstock and has been invited to take a stake in production.
